School and community links

In a community such as Craignish, the school is in the privileged position of being able to forge links with all those who help care for our children – health service, police, social work department. Children are given opportunities to take part in local events. They are also encouraged to contribute towards charitable organisations.

A programme of extra-curricular activities for primary school pupils is generally available in the wider community. In the past these sessions have included art and craft sessions, an outdoor adventure club, rugby, football and musical groups. Any Parents or Carers willing to assist with such activities should contact the school. Parental or Carer help at social events and church services is also welcomed.

School and community links are sought through the organising of social events and the opening of assemblies and services to members of the local community. Links with outside agencies include visits from the Police Community Liaison Officer, the Community Fire-fighter, Road Safety Officer and Local Health Visitor.

A variety of educational visits are undertaken by individual classes and the whole school throughout the year including residential trips for senior pupils.
